Absorption is not one coefficient. It is six band ledgers.

Sum boundary and treatment areas with six octave-band absorption coefficients into Sabins, compare Sabine and Norris–Eyring RT60, and invert the equivalent absorption still needed for a target time.

Coefficients must come from lab data matching the installation. The equations assume a diffuse field; nonuniform treatment, coupled rooms, air loss, occupancy, shape, and low-frequency modes can shift results, so measure after installation.
